Character Development: Ret. Major Mark Williams Stephenson (Self-Discipline)

The Cadets learned about Self-Discipline from Friday’s Character Development Speakers. Thank you to Retired Major Mark William Stephenson (US Army) and Retired Major General Francis Ianni (National Guard).
Major Stephenson was Joe Biden’s Primary Appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1976. At West Point, he received the highest awards for academic excellence for each of his four years and commanded a Cadet Company his senior year before graduating in 1980. He received the Defense Superior Service Medal and Legion of Merit during his 20-year Army career before working on the front lines of the first international space station with Boeing.
Major General Ianni joined the Delaware National Guard at the age of 15. He graduated from VFMA in 1950 before graduation from West Point in 1954. He was a Vietnam combat veteran and went on to become the Adjudant General of the Delaware National Guard.
