Tutor.com is VFMC’s platform for on-demand student tutoring support in nearly every subject offered at the College! Both synchronous (real-time) and asynchronous (drop off and wait for a reply) services are available 24/7/365!

To login, use your VFMAC email address as your username.

Your default password is: tutor

You may change your password, after your initial login if you would like.

Grammarly is an automated grammar checker that can also detect plagiarism.  You can download Grammarly directly to your web browser or MS Office toolbars.  Users must create their own individual accounts under our VFMC account.  To create your account:

               1: Go to the Grammarly SignUp Page

               2: Provide your name and email address, and password

               3: Check your inbox for the confirmation email, and click on the activation link.

Populi is VFMCs learning management and student information management system.  We use this system for course resources, message posting, and student academic records.

VFMC uses Google for its email management and provides access to the Google Suite of office tools and cloud storage through a single sign-on.

College cadets and faculty have access to a range of books on topics relevant to the degrees of study on campus through our Library Catalog.

College cadets and faculty have access to a range of digital resources to support research in various areas of academic study.

• Credo provides access to full-text articles from over 900 reference books. The content is great for providing general background or introductory information on a topic. The articles can help lead researchers to more detail by searching in subject-specific databases, and to help them refine search terms.
• JSTOR is a great starting point for research projects requiring scholarly/peer-reviewed articles and/or primary sources. It provides access to over 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines.
• The JSTOR Security Studies collection gathers academic and open policy research on international and national security problems and foreign policy issues from a global perspective. 
• Newsbank databases provide access to primary sources, and are a go-to resource for current events. The Newsbank databases include the following:
• Access World News is a comprehensive news collection, ideal for exploring issues and events at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
• American Historical Newspapers allows researchers to search via timeline or topic to easily find news articles covering topics in government, politics, social issues, culture, literature discoveries, inventions, and more from hundreds of primary source.
• Our membership with HSLC provides access to all POWER Library electronic resources! The database includes:
  • Academic Search Main Edition provides authoritative full-text and peer-reviewed journals from nearly 1,900 full-text journals and nearly 1,300 full-text peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ebony Magazine Archive: 1945-2014 covers civil rights, education, entrepreneurship and other social topics with an African-American focus.
  • EBSCO E-Books:Select from over 16,000 eBooks from the world’s leading publishers across all major subject areas. Perform full-text searches of a single eBook, search thousands of volumes simultaneously, browse topic categories, or read eBooks directly online.
  • Introduction to U.S. History: The American Revolution: This resource documents the revolution and war that created the United States of America, from the Paris peace treaty in 1763 through the early protests in 1785 to the Paris peace treaty of 1783.
  • Introduction to U.S. History: The Civil War: This resource documents the war that transformed America, ended slavery, and unified the nation around the principles of freedom.
  • Introduction to U.S. History: Slavery in America provides a significant account of the issue of slavery and its impact on American society and culture

• OpenStax provides free access to textbooks in various subjects along with class resources.
• Open Educational Resources Commons is a public digital library of open educational resources. Explore, create, and collaborate with educators around the world to improve curriculum.
• The Digital Public Library of America empowers people to learn, grow, and contribute to a diverse and better-functioning society.
• HathiTrust is a partnership of academic & research institutions, offering a collection of millions of titles digitized from libraries around the world.
• The Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.
• Library of Congress Image Collection includes photographs, fine and popular prints and drawings, posters, and architectural and engineering drawings. While international in scope, the collections are particularly rich in materials produced in, or documenting the history of, the United States and the lives, interests and achievements of the American people.
• Project Gutenberg offers over 54,000 free ebooks!
• PubMed comprises more than 27 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites.
