2026-27 Cadet Leadership Positions Announced
May 05, 2026
Valley Forge Military College is excited to announce the corps of cadets leadership positions for the 2026-27 academic year.
Cadet Leslie Salguero is the corps’ next Battalion Commander and First Captain, taking over the role of the highest ranking cadet from Cadet Aiden Renfrow.
“Just knowing the history we have and how many came before and all that they’ve done for the college and for this school in its entirety, it’s hard almost because it’s a lot of responsibility and that pressure is definitely on you to perform,” CDT Renfrow said. “I’m really excited to see Cadet Salguero lead next year. She’s definitely prepared and she definitely has it in her and this will be a really key part in her development into becoming an officer. There’s nothing that is stopping here. She really is top of her class and she’s a top performer.”
CDT Salguero is from Bensalem, Pa. and attended School Lane Charter School in Bucks County. She is in VFMC’s ROTC Early Commissioning Program after being prior enlisted. Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, CDT Salguero distinguished herself amongst her peers. She is the second female first captain in VFMC’s history and the first since Rebecca Timm ’16 served as Regimental Commander and First Captain during the 2015-16 academic year.
CDT Salguero received the Crucible Warfighter Award during the fall semester for her efforts during the plebe system. Recently, she was recognized by the ROTC department with the Military Order of the Purple Heart Leadership Award, which recognizes an outstanding cadet who holds a leadership position within the Corps of Cadets and is active in both school and community affairs. She was also recognized by the Commandant’s Department with the Feehan Medal, which is awarded annually to the Best New Cadet, and as one of the Provost’s five Academic Laurels for her academic performance during her freshman year.
Joining CDT Salguero at the top of the corps for 2026-27 are CDT Command Sergeant Major Daniel Schiele (Collegeville, Pa.), CDT Executive Officer Travis Lutz (Blythewood, S.C.), and CDT Battalion Adjutant Hubert Michon (Chicago, Ill.).
