WAYNE, Pa. – Valley Forge Military Academy & College (VFMAC) proudly announces a transformative $3 million pledge from distinguished alumnus Harry C. McCreary, Jr., Class of 1945, of St. Petersburg, Florida. In recognition of this historic gift, VFMAC will rename one of its key residence halls McCreary Hall in his honor.
Mr. McCreary’s generous contribution represents one of the largest individual gifts in the institution’s history and will significantly bolster ongoing efforts to enhance campus infrastructure, student life, and academic excellence.
“Harry McCreary embodies the very best in our alumni—honor, loyalty, and commitment to future generations,” said Colonel Stuart B. Helgeson, USMC (Ret), President of VFMAC. “His incredible generosity ensures that our cadets will continue to thrive in an environment rooted in tradition, leadership, and personal growth.”
A lifelong supporter of VFMAC, Mr. McCreary credits his time at the Academy with laying the foundation for his success in business and life. His gift will help fund vital renovations, including upgrades to residential facilities, common areas, and support services directly impacting cadet experience and well-being.
“Valley Forge helped shape who I am,” McCreary shared. “This is my way of giving back and ensuring future cadets have access to an excellent education and disciplined approach to life that I was fortunate to learn at Valley Forge.”
This extraordinary act of philanthropy reaffirms the strength and legacy of the VFMAC alumni network and stands as a testament to the enduring impact of a Valley Forge education.
