STUDENT ATHLETICS & ACTIVITIES
All aspects of the student experience guide cadets toward a greater appreciation of the Five Cornerstones. VFMC’s athletics program is built to develop character, physical strength and self-discipline. Students have access to athletic clubs in Cross Country, Wrestling, and Rugby, as well as training in weightlifting and jiu-jitsu.
VFMC does not currently have varsity athletics because of the student focus on ROTC training, the Corps of Cadets, and the centrality of academics to the student experience.
CLUBS AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
When not competing or training, cadets engage in service and learning projects, lead and participate in military staff rides, express themselves in creative art and music, and participate in one of our many clubs:
- Band
- Drill Team
- Rifle Team
- Cyber Club
- Women’s Club
- Press Corps
Provost’s Cup
In addition, the college’s competitive intramural program engages all students in the annual pursuit of the Provost’s Cup, fostering both camaraderie and spirited competition. Companies face a diverse array of challenges, including marching, running, climbing, water survival, obstacle races, flag football, ultimate frisbee, creative writing, and art.
These activities promote physical fitness and teamwork while also fostering creativity and self-expression, allowing each cadet to showcase their individual talents and strengths.
