A military junior college offers a blend of military training and a traditional two-year college education. Students can pursue an associate degree while participating in military programs like ROTC.

No. VFMC offers both military and civilian students the opportunity to obtain their associates degree. However, students in the ROTC Early Commissioning Program (ECP) will be commissioned as second lieutenants after completing the program.

The ECP allows ROTC cadets to become commissioned officers in the U.S. Army after completing two years at a military junior college, rather than the typical four years at a traditional university. Students must transfer to a 4-year institution to fully complete the program.

Yes. All cadets must transfer to a four-year institution to complete their bachelor’s degree. Citizen Leaders are the only students who do NOT have to. Your credits from the junior college are transferable.

Yes. VFMC offers ROTC scholarships, as well as federal and state financial aid. Students can utilize benefits like the GI Bill, EAP, or parent transfer benefits.

Students gain leadership experience, discipline, and academic preparation. Those in ROTC can commission as officers in two years and receive financial benefits for their service.

All first year cadets live in barracks style housing with a possible roommate. All second year students house in our refinished 2 person, fully equipped apartments on campus

Yes! VFMC is a co-educational immersive military modeled education that is in no way gender-based. We cater our experiences to those capable of traversing this program.

Yes. VFMC offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including intramural sports, student organizations, and community service programs.

VFMC provides a small school experience with a two-year associate’s degree. In particular, VFMC prides itself in its effective immersive experience. Students going through the ECP are linked with PA. Army National Guard units who have specialties of interest to our cadets like Aviation or Engineers to understand in real time what serving as an officer in a real unit will be like. Cadets at service academies aren’t often, if ever, offered real world experience until they graduate from their 4-year programs.
