Campus Security

The Campus Security Officers (CSO) at Valley Forge Military College are responsible for the safety and general security of VFMC. A person may report any unlawful or suspicious activity or any emergency by calling (610) 989-1255/1258.

 

Persons may also report a crime by going to the Office of the CSO located in the Facilities Building.

 

The office is open 24/7/365.

  • A.L.I.C.E. (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate): A.L.I.C.E. training equips the VFMAC community with active assailant response skills through annual sessions every August or upon request.

  • Emergency Preparedness & Mass Evacuation Protocol: Campus Security conducts annual training on emergency protocols, shelter-in-place, and lockdown procedures, supported by campus drills.

  • Campus Security Patrols: Uniformed Campus Security Officers (CSOs) patrol 24/7, equipped with medical kits, fire suppression tools, and vehicles, ensuring safety and rapid response.

  • CCTV: Closed-circuit television monitors campus activities to deter crime and support security efforts.

  • Mass Emergency Notification: Notifications about emergencies and weather-related issues are sent via email and text to the VFMAC community.

  • Escorts and Transports: CSOs assist with transporting sick or injured cadets to the Health Center.

  • Lockouts and Jumpstarts: CSOs help cadets with lockouts and vehicle jumpstarts as needed.

  • Lost and Found: The Campus Security Office and TAC Offices manage lost and found items for the community.

  • Fire Safety and Prevention: Daily fire panel, extinguisher, and AED checks are conducted by CSOs to ensure fire safety in collaboration with Facilities and TAC Officers.

  • Infrastructure and Maintenance: CSOs assist Facilities with infrastructure checks, maintenance reporting, and lighting accountability during patrols.

  • Campus Security Training: CSOs complete “Stop the Bleed,” FEMA modules, and annual training on Title IX, Clery Act, and child abuse reporting.

  • ACT 67 School Security Training: All CSOs complete a mandated 40-hour training program for educational security personnel within six months of employment.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure Act

 

Valley Forge Military College also maintains a strict compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. The Clery Act requires higher education institutions to give timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the safety of students or employees, and to make public their campus security policies. The act is intended to provide students and their families, as higher education consumers, with accurate, complete and timely information about safety on campus so that they can make informed decisions.
