ABOUT THE NATIONAL GUARD SCHOLARSHIP

This National Guard Scholarship is exclusive to Valley Forge Military College.

Those selected become commissioned officers in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG).

During the two years at VFMC, Scholars engage in a rigorous accelerated ROTC training program.

The Program enables you to commission a full two years sooner than those in traditional ROTC programs.

VFMC’s National Guard Scholars receive full tuition, and room and board.

Graduates receive an A.A or A.S. and a 2LT Commission in the PAARNG. 

Scholarship winners complete their BA. at a PA State College & University System (PASSHE) School of choice. Full Tuition Covered.

The immersive military college experience at VFMC has officers prepared for their follow-on college and future.

DEGREE AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS AT VALLEY FORGE MILITARY COLLEGE, THE MILITARY COLLEGE OF PENNSYLVANIA™ 

  • VFMC offers 13 associate degrees in Arts and Science; certificate programs offer minor options.
  • The associate degrees are the basis for continued study and transfer to highly ranked and competitive four-year programs at all colleges and universities in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PSSHE).
  • The National Guard offers a broad range of service options and job opportunities, including pathways to advanced degrees in medicine and law.
  • VFMC is the only Military Junior College designated by the US National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense for two-year institutions.

The National Guard offers a broad range of service options and job opportunities,
including pathways to advanced degrees in medicine and law.

SERVE AS A LEADER IN THE CORPS 

  • Competitive intramurals engage all students in the annual pursuit of the Provost’s Cup.
  • Squads face challenges in cross country, climbing, water survival, obstacle races, flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, creative writing, and art.
  • National Guard Scholars engage in service and learning through Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, personal expression in the Creative Camo Club, or investigative journalism and social media through the Press Corps.
  • National Guard Scholars can participate in band, drill team, or team sports, including cross country, wrestling, Ranger Challenge, Army 10-miler, rifle team, and e-Sports.

ROOM & BOARD SCHOLARSHIP FOR NATIONAL GUARD SCHOLARS

  • First year scholars reside in the traditional college dormitory style barracks with shared facilities and study spaces.
  • Second year scholars reside in the Village apartments. These are two and three bedroom living facilities with their own kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and dining/office space.

ACCREDITATION FOR VALLEY FORGE MILITARY COLLEGE, THE MILITARY COLLEGE OF PENNSYLVANIA™ 

  • VFMC is accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and is a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
  • The US National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have reaccredited VFMC as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense through 2028.

TRANSFER SCHOOLS

  • National Guard Scholarship Cadets transfer to any college or university within Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PSSHE). Tuition at the following schools is equal to the National Guard Scholarship; Tuition at other schools may exceed the scholarship amount.
  • VFMC’s Provost, Registrar, Academic Advisors, and Army Guard leadership provide students with transfer and career guidance, and connections to partner schools.
